Morphe 15H happy hour palette review!
Hi everyone!
A couple of days ago I purchased the Morphe 15H happy hour palette and thought I would do a review as I'm new to this company but so many of the biggest beauty influencers use their products that I thought I'd give it a go and start by choosing a palette with colours I know I can wear and play around with to create various looks!
Here is the palette!
Starting from the top row, here are the swatches:
1. 'On the rocks' is a matte creamy white which had a lovely texture and felt smooth and 'buttery', as did all the mattes. There was significant pigment, enough for it to act as a brow-bone highlight or for the inner corner of the eye
2. 'Mixer' is a very light peachy colour and from my point of view out of this row it wasn't as consistent in terms of colour pay off, but then again it's also similar to my skin tone so it would probably look great on even fairer skin or darker skin
3. 'Bubbly' is one of my favourite colours because it has instant colour pay off and looks like a beautiful coppery metallic. To the touch it still felt smooth, soft and blendable
4. 'Bottoms up' seems like a very intense colour in the pan but it's a buildable shade which you can build from a more muted orangey shade to a more intense version and it great either way
5. 'Wingman' is again one of my favourite shades for it 'plum' tones and something I wouldn't usually go for but experimenting with it is great due to its soft finish
Second row:
This is most definitely my favourite row with most of the shimmery/metallic shades.
1. 'Cheers' is a perfect transition shade to apply through the crease and smoke it out right at the beginning. It's matte and creamy, with fab pigmentation
2. 'Flirt' is a darker more intense coppery version of bubbly in the first row and would work really well as just an all over the lid colour for a simple look or used for a more intense eye look
3. 'Rooftop' is quite a unique shade in my opinion, again just as shimmery and metallic, but with peachier tones and I don't think I've seen a colour like it so yeah, thumbs up from me!
4. 'Hot spot'. Every palette needs a shimmery gold colour since it's so versatile and can be used for any look. This one is pigmented and creamy and doesn't have any fall out once applied (I do recommend using an eyeshadow primer or even concealer on the lid but even so I haven't noticed such fall out).
5. 'Spritzer' has more of a pink undertone than 'rooftop' and is the kind of shade which can be perfect worn just on its own to add a subtle yet present sparkle to the lid for a simple look. Same consistency as the other shimmers in the palette
Third row:
1. 'Trash talk' is a stunning metallic/shimmery colour which has more golden undertones rather than coppery, but a darker version than 'hop spot'. It's blendable and has strong colour pay off
2. '5PM' is a warm tone chocolate matte shade, again perfect to intensify the transition shades or can be used for a more browny subtle smokey eye
3. 'Snap' is a lighter plummy/pinky shade than 'wingman' and has the same smooth matte feeling to the touch as the other mattes, making it easy to blend
4. 'Manhattan' is a cooler tone and darker version of '5PM' and apart from its texture which matches the others, I think it would also be perfect to use right up on the lash line for a smokey brown liner effect
5. 'Last call' is a difficult colour to describe since personally I see it as a dark cool tone brown with hints of grey. To touch, the feeling was the same but on application it was probably the most chalky, but then again applied to the eye with a brush might be different than a finger swatch.
My overall views of this palette are that it's great with usable colours to create any look. Pigmentation was excellent and all the colours felt smooth and buttery. I definitely recommend this palette, given than its also £15 and I'm sure you all know several beauty influencers who also have a discount code for the brand Morphe.
My next blog post will be an eye tutorial using this palette so stay tuned!
