May makeup favourites | 2017

Hi everyone! I hope you've all been well. I haven't posted a blog post in a while because I've been quite busy with exams and revision, but I've found some spare time as I really wanted to write out this blog, since you all know how much I love makeup!! So here it is, my May favourites: enjoy, it's quite a long/detailed one!

May favourites | 2017

Soap and Glory the perfect ten palette, Real Techniques shadow brush

I've been really enjoying this palette mainly because of it's shimmery summer shades. The colour pay off  is really good and long-lasting. personally I don't wear an eyeshadow primer but even so, the pigment doesn't move around and I don't have fall out at the end of the day. So I can't even imagine how long-lasting it can be with a primer! All the colours are lightly shimmery which I think is very appropriate for this time of the year, especially the first 7 colours which would look great as simply lid colours, then the last 3 work well to deepen the crease! I'm not a fan of the small brush it comes with so I prefer to use the Real Techniques shadow brush, which blends beautifully and smooths out harsh lines! Overall, I love these two products together!

Rimmel London Natural bronzer & Scandaleyes eyeliner, Boots powder brush

I was pleasantly surprised by this powder brush! I saw it in Boots, which for those of you who aren't from the UK, is a shop which sells drugstore/highstreet makeup brands, but it does also sell its own brand of sponges/brushes etc. Their brushes have definitely been re-branded because before they looked a bit cheap and not effective, but now the bristles of the brush are so soft! It's denoted as a 'powder brush' but personally I use it for all.-over bronzer. I also bought this bronzer from Boots and I was surprised here too, because of the shade of the bronzer. It's just one shade so I was worried it wouldn't suit all skin tones and come out very orangey on me, but it looks so natural and really defines, colours and brightens the face! Thumbs up from me!

Clinique pep start hydroblur moisturizer, Clinique chubby stick highlighter & Clinique rinse-off foaming cleanser

I've loved these 3 Clinique products, I mean I love Clinique as a makeup and skin-care brand. The reason the pep start moisturizer made it to my favourites is because of its 'balmy' texture. It's really smooth, rich and nourishing. I've always struggled to find the perfect moisturizer since my face can be either very dry or oily. I used to use the Clinique dramatically different moisturizer but I found that it just wouldn't sink in my skin, and I'd still see and feel it on the surface of my skin hours after, but I didn't feel like it even sunk through my skin. The next product is the chubby stick highlight, which makes application really precise. As it's a cream product, you can simply blend it out a bit with a finger and it stays on all day. It stays bright and luminous without going cakey. Finally the rinse-off foaming cleanser is perfect for when you've just removed your makeup and you want to double cleanse. I would say it's a mix between a soap and a cleanser and it leaves your skin feeling smooth and clean of any impurities.

Bourjois radiance reveal concealer

This product has really been a revelation for me. So as I've stated, I can get really dry skin so whenever in the mornings I applied concealer, if it's a drying one, it flakes and needless to say you don't look so airbrushed aha. I haven't found this problem with this concealer because it's very hydrating and gives a luminous look to the face. It has medium coverage, but it's definitely buildable.

I hope you enjoyed this blog, I know it was quite a long one but I really wanted to share these products with you!
